Hi group -
I own a 2002 TH-6A that is my favorite little buddy traveling radio. Last Saturday I bought a used one at a swapfest as a back-up for an excellent price. It works great.
I noticed right away when comparing the two that the backlight is 3 to 4 times brighter on the used unit than my original. I swapped out the batteries and adjusted the contrast settings on my 2002 but can come nowhere near the backlight brilliance of the used unit. I found nothing about this in our Files section or the manual.
The used unit must be newer than my original. The AC adapter that came with the used unit is the SPS-12-011A and my original is the large brick W08-0927 and the serial number sequencing is in a completely different format.
Has anyone else noticed over time a diminished backlighting lamp brightness on the TH-6A? Not that it's a big deal. I must be used to it being lit this way now. Or, I may have damaged it somehow. Or there is a setting I'm unaware of.
Also, does anyone know where to a get a wrist strap or one that will fit? East Coast Parts does not have a replacement for the TH-6A.
Thanks in advance!!
